CYA and Skippers’ Plan Join Forces for Exclusive Insurance Advantages

Beginning on May 1, 2011, The Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) and Robertson & Robertson's Skippers Plan join forces to offer CYA members a number of exclusive unique feature benefits including  a one-stop  source for home, auto and commercial insurance.

Whitney McClintock Sets Pending World Water Ski Record at National Championships

The 61st Canadian Water Ski Championships concluded on Sunday with a pending world record performance by Cambridge, Ontario's Whitney McClintock. Subject to review by the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation, the 22 year old bested the women's world overall record by 5 points as a result of her outstanding combined national championship scores in slalom, tricks and jump.

In slalom, McClintock won the Canadian title while amassing major overall points by eclipsing the Canadian record with a score of 61 buoys, which is 1 buoy at the 10.25m rope length, only 1 buoy shy of the world record for that event.

UK Sailmakers Northwest Announces Successful Ownership Transition

Local sailmaking mainstay UK Sailmakers Northwest is pleased to announce the successful transition of ownership from Tim Knight to Stuart and Joy Dahlgren. Beneteau Plans More Power Boats for North America

Crate Marine Sales Honored as Cruisers Yachts' Dealer of the Year

Cruisers Yachts held their dealer meeting at the company’s headquarters in Oconto, Wisconsin. The annual gathering featured Cruisers Yachts' christening of the 2012 41 Cantius sports coupe, unveiling of a new interactive website and plans for the upcoming year.

Canada Metal Pacific has Acquired Rocna Anchors

The Vancouver-based Canada Metal Pacific said that it had acquired New Zealand-based Rocna Anchors adding a line of anchors to its range of other marine products.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Media quoted John Mitchell, president of Canada Metal Pacific as saying, "We have been searching for a line of anchors and anchoring products to complement our CMP anchor chain. We are very excited to bring Rocna Anchors into the fold.  Their superior performance fits well with our focus on innovation and quality products."
