The International Council of Marine Industry Associations - ICOMIA - has signed a long-term agreement to support the International Boat Show and Festival - a new four-day boat show commencing 17 October 2013 at the Serenity Marina, Sanya, Hainan Island in China.
The show will focus on mid-range boats (10 - 15 meters) afloat and small craft ashore for watersport promotion. The International Boat Show and Festival is organised with the assistance of the Beijing based China Cruise and Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA), a full Member of ICOMIA.

Mustang Survival showed the Catalyst Flotation Jacket for the first time on the Canadian West Coast at the 2012 Vancouver International Boat Show. The company also promoted PFD (personal flotation devices) awareness during the five day event with show greeters wearing lightweight inflatable PFDs at the newly renovated BC Place and by providing show attendees with PFDs while they took part in on-water seminars at the Granville Island Maritime Market and Marina.

Mercury-Canada is once again creating history by sponsoring Canadian powerboat champion, Tammy Wolf. Tammy will be the first Canadian women to compete in the SST 200 class in North America.
Powerboat racing is the most exhilarating sport in the world. Drivers, teams, and equipment are constantly tested. Each lap is different, drivers not only compete against each other but also against the ever changing water and wind conditions. Boats reach the turn buoy at speeds up to 110 mph and in a split second; they accelerate out to the next turn while riding on a cushion of air.

Gordon Dugald Evans Elliott, FCA passed away unexpectedly at the age of 82. He will be sadly missed by his wife Pat, his sons and their families: Mark (Sylvia), Carlyn (Ben),Blair and Kelsey; Brock (Leona); Ross(Dolores),Leanne(Matt), Tanis(Andrew) and Denise; Guy (Kathy),Melissa and Laura; and Kent (Carole) Elise, Stefan, Justin and Claire; and his daughter and her family, Jan Filippelli (Tony) Danielle, Elliott, Melia, Shane, Seyarra. He will also be missed by his two great-granddaughters Ella and Emily and his close sister-in-law, Jolyne and niece, Susan. Gordon graduated from King Edward High School in 1948. In 1955 Gordon started his career in accounting in Vancouver with Rudd and Goold and in two short years was promoted to partner.
